Education
Excellent public schools are another key element to Shorewood’s prosperity. Students from Shorewood attend the Troy or Minooka elementary districts and Joliet Township or Minooka High School districts. These districts continually receive high rankings on standardized tests and have excellent and well-deserved reputations. Support of the public education system is evidenced by successful bond referendums and Village Ordinances requiring school impact fees from builders, which are needed to respond to the growing student populations. These achievements benefit the Village in the present, and bode well for the future. Shorewood also successfully offers a variety of educational options with private, religious-based schools located in Shorewood.
